We search for the secrets of life, yet in nearly every account our journey returns us to love, of which forgiveness and gratitude are constant companions.
Thank you for this day upon I can walk.
Thank you for these people that love me so.
Thank you for this food for body, mind and soul.
It’s common to think success and notoriety are the pillars that hold us up because we model what we see and whom we’ve placed our trust, but what we’ve seen over and over again is that forgiveness and gratitude are the real angels and love is our true God.
We can call upon the real pillars, our angels —for they are living things. Forgiving and appreciation are alive. They are millennia old, held deep within our ancestors, and Mother Earth and Father Sky, and in every cell in our body.
Perhaps the secret we seek so diligently is how to query the way we gain access to forgiveness and gratitude. If there is just one secret or if there was just one thing we should share, perhaps it is that our gentle and humble approach brings forth the answer.
In our most present moment we can achieve anything. In our most honorable selves we can access a truer power —of forgiving life, forgiving our body, forgiving each others part that brought the pain. Because, it is always pain that brought the betrayal that brought back the pain. A cycle upon which as a people we’ve been stuck in generation after generation after generation.
It’s a much deeper look at life that forgiveness asks of us.
Gratitude similarly requests an approach to life —in curiosity and with reverence.
“Thank you for this day upon which I walk.”
Thank you…for this day…upon…which I walk —a practice when we can sit really still, without distractions and a busy mind, where we can just sense and feel.
What I mean is that deep within our solitude, like when we pray or when we access the one memory of our life that gave us, the deeper part of us, a moment upon which hope and fulfillment brought us a tear to our eye because we fully felt it. That is the gift.
One tear of such magnitude holding all the world so we can see, both clearly and with an appreciation that is both sharp and comforting. And the world is Okay, and the world is working as it should —compassionately evolving, creating and revealing beautiful things.
Because even in our pain there is such beauty.
You see my dear friends, love is energy and love can be thought of as the book store upon which hold the books of forgiveness and gratitude, of reverence and humility and beauty and so forth.
In our mind we want to separate everything. We want to call love a certain act or we wish to label forgiving as weak or thankfulness as being less than in some comparison. But love is the strongest power we have. It is our connection to all things, love is intrinsic to our planet. It is perhaps, our planet.
Look at nature, see how the bud blooms. What colours it expresses and what magnificence its’ shape brings. Look at a new born baby, and what their eyes bring into our existence. What message do they bring from the heavens that hold our ancestors and the mystical realms of what we, after millennia, still do not know.
Deep sigh.
The sacredness of life, how important every moment is with our deeper presence in it. Yes, we can end all unnecessary suffering in this deeper presence. One person to one person to one person to one person to one person…teaching love.
